Tish Music Fest is a community-driven live music festival designed to celebrate local culture, independent artists, and the energy of small-town music scenes. The project focused on building a complete visual identity system that could unify multiple venues, performances, sponsors, activities, and promotional campaigns into one recognizable event experience.
Inspired by vintage concert posters, Americana design, and classic letterpress advertising, the festival branding combines bold typography, distressed textures, and high-impact layouts to create a system that feels authentic, energetic, and rooted in live music culture.
The biggest challenge was organizing a large amount of information across multiple venues, artist lineups, schedules, activities, sponsors, and promotional formats without losing visual consistency.
The branding also needed to stand apart from generic festival marketing. Rather than relying on modern minimalism or overly polished concert branding, the goal was to create something that felt handcrafted, loud, and memorable while still remaining clear and functional across print and digital platforms.
The system had to work equally well on posters, social media graphics, schedules, banners, merchandise, tickets, signage, and mobile-friendly layouts.
The creative direction was heavily influenced by vintage Hatch Show Print posters, southern music culture, old concert flyers, and Americana-inspired typography. Large condensed lettering, distressed textures, layered type, and limited color palettes were used throughout the project to create a strong visual identity tied to live performance culture.
The tone of the festival is energetic, community-focused, and welcoming. Rather than feeling corporate or overdesigned, the visuals were built to feel expressive, loud, and full of personality while still maintaining structure and readability.
The audience includes music fans, families, tourists, local businesses, and younger audiences who engage heavily with live events and festival culture.
The identity system was designed to stay flexible across a wide variety of applications while maintaining strong visual recognition throughout the festival.
Primary and secondary logo variations were developed alongside supporting graphic elements, venue systems, typography treatments, icons, textures, and promotional layouts. Consistent visual elements help tie together everything from artist schedules and event posters to directional signage and merchandise.
The system was designed to feel recognizable whether viewed on a downtown banner, social media post, T-shirt, wristband, or stage backdrop.
Typography became one of the defining features of the festival identity. Bold condensed display typefaces paired with simpler supporting typography helped balance personality with readability across crowded layouts and fast-moving event graphics.
The layout system focused heavily on hierarchy and pacing. Large artist names, oversized headlines, and structured schedule grids help organize information clearly while still maintaining the energy of live music advertising.
Spacing, alignment, and visual rhythm were carefully used to keep promotional materials readable across both print and mobile formats.
A large portion of the project focused on environmental branding and real-world event applications. The identity system expanded into posters, stage signage, downtown banners, schedules, tickets, backstage passes, merchandise, directional signage, sponsor graphics, and venue-based promotional materials.
Different venues and activities were visually connected through consistent typography, textures, and color systems while still allowing each location to maintain its own atmosphere and personality.
These applications helped create a more immersive and unified festival experience across the entire event.
The project also expanded into digital marketing and responsive promotional content including social media campaigns, mobile schedules, artist announcements, website layouts, and animated promotional graphics.
Digital assets were designed to maintain the same bold visual language found in the printed materials while adapting naturally to smaller screens and social-first formats.
The flexibility of the system allowed the festival branding to remain recognizable across every platform and promotional touchpoint.
The final result is a complete festival branding system that combines vintage-inspired design, live music culture, and modern event marketing into a cohesive visual identity.

By expanding the project beyond a single poster into a full event experience, Tish Music Fest became a large-scale branding system built to work across print, digital, environmental, and promotional applications.
